Alastair Bennetto
I’m a writer based in Essex, England. I write crime fiction about thieves, questionable decisions and the things people would rather keep hidden.
I’m currently working on The Fifth Man, a crime novel about an ageing jewel thief forced to revisit the crimes — and the people — he thought he’d left behind.
Alongside the novel, I’m writing short stories from his life: old jobs, close calls and the occasional reminder that experience and good judgement are not necessarily the same thing.

A little more about me
I live in Essex with my wife and two children. When I’m not writing, I’m usually cooking something unnecessarily complicated, coaching youth football, planning a ski trip or finding some new interest to disappear down a rabbit hole with.
Writing started as another one of those obsessions. This one appears to be sticking.
